Bottle Cage

So this one was a pain in the ass. I got an old water bottle and traced out a design on it, in the shape I wanted, then wrapped carbon around the water bottle and wrapped a strip of plastic from a soda bottle around it. I waited for it to dry, then found out I should have put some wax on the soda bottle. Well, the soda bottle plastic started sticking and peeling and caused all sorts of cosmetic problems. So after I picked most of the plasctic off, I cut and shaped the cage to where it is now. Then to make it better looking, I put some silver carbon on it and wetted it down with some epoxy, glued some plastic blocks cut in half to mount the screws to. Again I painted to cover up all the bubbles and marks and clear coated a lot.

Using It

Well this one goes into the showpiece category. I used it for one ride, and when I hit a pothole my bottle went flying out and probably killed a deer or something. I could modify it to stop the "bottle ejection feature" but I just don't feel like it.
